About Hollis

Hollis Payer grew up in the Midwest where the vowel sounds are as flat as the topography. Her accent became unmoored when she studied speech at American Conservatory Theater with Edith Skinner, “the first lady of American Stage English”.

Hollis set up shop as a professional voice and got her start in corporate television in Philadelphia. She loves zany character voices, dramatic literary reads, and fast paced commercial work, but her voice is also much in demand for healthcare, pharmaceutical, and other technical industries whose programs require a warm intelligence and facility for tricky terminology.

In 20 years of business, changes in media and technology have diversified Hollis' work. In addition to traveling to sound studios all around the area, she records and sends voice files from her home studio. Her recordings for the Department of Defense are heard on military bases around the world, and her voice is a staple on training programs for Microsoft Software.

Hollis is an accomplished musician, speech and voice trainer, and yoga enthusiast.
