Ceili Drive: The Music of Irish Philadelphia

Hollis was proud to be a part of the recent recording project entitled, Ceili Drive: The Music of Irish Philadelphia. This CD features rollicking tunes from heretofore unheralded players, and sweet songs by the unsung heroes of Philadelphia Irish music. There’s a raw excitement and energy to the music played in Philly pubs and concerts. Our goal was nothing less than to harness lightning in a bottle. Judging by early reviews, we think we’ve really done it. We brought together three of Philadelphia’s major musical families, the Boyces, the Brennans, and the McGillians; three rising stars under the age of 13 who’ve already competed twice in the All-Irelands; plus a stellar group of Irish-born musicians who now call Philadelphia home.
